During the pandemic, Pechanga Arena San Diego has, so far, hosted nine blood drives in conjunction with the American Red Cross. In total, San Diegans have donated 1,017 units of blood, saving 2,628 lives. The arena was honored with an Outstanding Service Award by the American Red Cross for its efforts to host blood drives during the pandemic. Two of the blood drives were also food drives, collecting 7,022 pounds of food, leading to more than 5,000 meals for San Diegans in need.
