San Diego Gulls and Pechanga Arena San Diego to Debut New Led Lighting and Sound Systems

The San Diego Gulls announced today that the American Hockey League (AHL) club and Pechanga Arena San Diego will unveil a new LED Sports Lighting system and audio system upgrade to the arena.

“In partnership with AEG, we are thrilled to make state-of-the art upgrades to better enhance the fan experience and take our in-game experience to new heights at Gulls games,” said Matt Savant, President of Business Operations of the San Diego Gulls. “These upgrades underline our commitment to the overall fan experience in San Diego. With the addition of new LED lighting and HD quality sound, these upgrades signify our ownership’s intent to provide a world-class experience at every Gulls game.”

The Gulls have partnered with Musco Lighting for the installation of a new LED Sports Lighting system, allowing for an overall enhanced arena experience for players, fans, and visitors, and a significant savings in energy consumption for the arena.

The 400 Watt LED lights will improve visibility, and deliver more distributed light onto the playing surface, instantly and efficiently control dimming and theatrical control of the lights, provide special effects and LED color-changing fixtures, and enhance broadcasts with superior light quality during Gulls telecasts on FOX 5 San Diego.

Installation of the LED lighting system will take place from Dec. 18-21 with Gulls fans able to experience the new lighting on Friday, Dec. 22 when San Diego hosts the Ontario Reign (7 p.m.).

As part of the arena upgrades, Pechanga Arena San Diego, in affiliation with AEG, one of the leading sports and entertainment presenters in the world, installed in late November and early December a high definition JBL audio system that includes 50, 1750 Watt speakers and eight 1500 Watt subwoofers.

“The new LED lighting and JBL sound system bring state of the art improvements to the Pechanga Arena San Diego,” said Ernie Hahn, ‎General Manager of Pechanga Arena San Diego. “We’re thankful to have the Gulls as a partner in improving the fan’s overall experience.”

In addition, the Gulls installed two new single-sided LED hockey scoreboard displays in each end zone of Pechanga Arena San Diego on Nov. 17.
