Major Event Traffic Information for Andrea Bocelli in San Diego

As San Diego prepares to welcome the world’s most beloved Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli for his second performance in two years, Pechanga Arena San Diego is asking ticketed guests to arrive early and be prepared for heavy traffic.

“We have a very large parking lot that holds thousands of cars,” said Pechanga Arena San Diego General Manager Ernie Hahn. “But a performer of Bocelli’s magnitude attracts among the largest crowds our arena will ever see. Please be prepared for large crowds and possible overflow parking.”

Bocelli visited San Diego in 2018 for a sold-out performance. He previously performed in San Diego 20 years ago. His most recent visit led to capacity crowds and forced parking lot managers to utilize nearby, overflow parking. Pechanga Arena expects the same in 2019. The show is scheduled for this Sunday, December 8 at 7:30 p.m. Doors will be opening early at 6:00 p.m., with seating opening at 6:30 p.m. The main parking lot opens at 4:00 p.m.

Guests are encouraged to arrive as early as possible and use all lanes on Sports Arena Boulevard to enter the main parking lot located at 3500 Sports Arena Boulevard. In the event the main parking lot closes, guests will be directed to a nearly parking lot located at SAIC, 4015 Hancock St. Overflow parking will not open unless the main parking lot fills and should not be used as a first option. Parking will be $20 with no advanced reservations offered.

In the rare event that both parking lots reach capacity, guests will be directed to street parking at their own risk. Guests should not park in surrounding businesses as they will be towed.

“It will be a night to remember so please come early or make plans with rideshare to maximize this once in a lifetime type of experience,” said Hahn.
