Accountant Doing Double Duty with San Diego Sockers 2 and Pechanga Arena San Diego

When he’s not crunching numbers for Pechanga Arena San Diego, accountant Jared Hegardt is playing midfield for San Diego Sockers 2, the San Diego Sockers’ development team.

“It has been an awesome experience working and playing soccer with such a historic venue and team,” said Hegardt.

He spends a lot of time at Pechanga Arena San Diego between his full-time position in accounting, and his practice and games with the San Diego Sockers 2. But soccer is what he enjoys, having played his entire life.

“I grew up playing for local club teams in San Diego,” he explained. “I had the honor of playing for the U-17 Men’s National team. Then I went on to play college soccer at the Santa Clara University and University of San Diego. Now I’m excited to be playing for the Sockers 2 team.”

He says soccer is a very exciting, high-energy sport that doesn’t disappoint. He’s also energized by his position with Pechanga Arena San Diego.

“My job is quite interesting,” he said. “I have the opportunity to deal with sports and music within in an Accounting/Finance capacity, which is my education background. I enjoy working during the day at the venue and coming back at night for a Sockers game or concert.”

The San Diego Sockers 2 are now in the playoffs, playing the Colorado Inferno on Saturday in Colorado Springs.
