In the name of worldwide Grammy-winning pop sensation Ed Sheeran, Pechanga Arena San Diego announced today a $10,000 donation to Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego.
In August 2017, Ed Sheeran played to a sold-out audience at Pechanga Arena San Diego. Knowing that children’s medical care is a cause close to his heart, Pechanga Arena San Diego joins venues across the country in making a donation in Ed Sheeran’s name.
“We know these funds are supporting an amazing cause,” said Pechanga Arena San Diego General Manager Ernie Hahn. “Rady Children’s is where San Diego families turn for state-of-the-art children’s medical care. Their skilled doctors and nurses have saved countless young lives. We hope this donation has an impact on continuing this care.”
The $10,000 gift is unrestricted, allowing Rady Children’s to use the funds where most needed. Rady Children’s is the only hospital in the San Diego area dedicated exclusively to pediatric healthcare and the region’s only designated pediatric trauma center.

Damon-Scherer. “Donations to children’s medical care and this hospital help families receive medical care they might not otherwise. With this donation and others, the mission continues to provide the best possible care to children in our community and beyond.”
On November 5, the San Diego Sockers host their Home Opener at Pechanga Arena San Diego. This coincides with National Love Your Red Hair Day. In celebration of the donation to Rady Children’s and Ed Sheeran’s famous red hair, the Sockers will welcome families from the hospital and recognize Sheeran’s contributions to children’s medical care.
