To commemorate “America Recycles Day” on Wednesday, November 15th, Pechanga Arena will host an electronic waste collection event in conjunction with EnviroGreen Electronic Recycling Services, a local leader in the field of responsible electronics recycling. The event is designed to put unwanted electronics back into service or recycle them responsibly, keeping e-waste from local landfills.
The “mega-event” is free to the public and will be staged in the parking lot at Pechanga Arena, 3500 Sports Arena Boulevard, from 6:00am to 2:00pm on Wednesday, November 15th. All electronic items – anything with a plug or a battery – may be dropped off at the drive-through distribution. Most electronic items will be accepted at no cost, allowing participants to avoid paying landfill fees and adding to landfill levels. A nominal fee will be charged for collection of some items, such as refrigerators. Secure paper shredding will also be available for $5 per “banker’s box” and secure destruction of hard drives will be available for $10 per drive.
“We are proud to host such a meaningful event that both helps protect the environment and supports those that served our country,” says Steve Eckerson, General Manager at ASM Global/Pechanga Arena.
The Environmental Protection Agency established America Recycles Day to recognize the importance and impact of recycling and the protection of our environment. EnviroGreen is a locally owned, woman owned business, which was recently presented the 2023 Sustainable Business Award by the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce in recognition of their “exemplary efforts” toward environmental impact.
