SAN DIEGO (Wednesday, August 6, 2025) – The NBA returns to San Diego for one night only as the 2023 NBA Champion Denver Nuggets face their Western Conference rival Minnesota Timberwolves in a preseason game Oct. 4 at Pechanga Arena. Tip is set for 6 p.m. PT.
The Nuggets are led by three-time MVP Nikola Jokić, while the Timberwolves feature three-time NBA All-Star Anthony Edwards.
The Nuggets will serve as the home team at Pechanga Arena, which is part of the 48-acre Midway Rising redevelopment project led by The Kroenke Group, the real estate investment and development company of Nuggets owner E. Stanley Kroenke.
This will mark the first NBA preseason game in San Diego since the Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors met in 2015. The city was home to NBA teams the San Diego Rockets from 1967-71 and the San Diego Clippers from 1978-84, both of which played at Pechanga Arena (then known as San Diego Sports Arena).
